Glass Tile

Its longevity and totally stylish design make it an unbeatable opponent. Imagine these on the walls of your living room! Let me tell you some universal truths about glass mosaic tilesYou probably know that they can reflect light in the most amazing ways, thus making any space appear larger than it really is. Shadow play will make any wall, floor or furniture look more exotic and unique.

There is no material on the market that will look as stylish as glass block, and that's just a simple fact. Did you know that glass tiles are made by heating sand and other tiny chemicals and then quickly cooling them? See, even the way glass mosaic tiles are made has the word "cool" in it. You can't go wrong with glass mosaic tiles.

Ceramic Tile

Beautiful and intricate tile mosaic wall art. Just like glass tiles, ceramic mosaic tiles come in a wide variety of shapes, colors, sizes and finishes. Whether you want vintage, elegant or fancy, tile has something for you. Unlike glass, ceramic tile is essentially crystalline and traditionally made of clay.

Today, the term "ceramic" is increasingly associated with a broader category of materials, including cement and glass itself. Needless to say, this raises some questions, as you can never be sure what your tile is actually made of. Keeping this in mind, it's no surprise that ceramic mosaic tiles are cheaper than glass mosaic tiles.

Comparison

In short, both glass and ceramic mosaic tiles are great ...... because they are used to making mosaics, and having eaten at the Mosaic Lab here, we know there is nothing better than fine mosaic artwork. However, one is slightly better than the other. See, unlike tile, glass mosaic tiles have zero water absorption, which makes them much easier to clean and maintain. Glass is also completely eco-friendly, as it is completely organic and sometimes even made from recycled materials. The only advantage ceramic tiles have over glass tiles in comparison to this is that they are slightly cheaper. In terms of appearance, preference always depends on your personal taste. In my own humble opinion, glass looks better and is more striking because it glows and shines.
